About the role

CloserHire is partnering with a fast-growing international technology company within the sports betting and iGaming industry to recruit a QA Engineer for their team in Sofia, Bulgaria. This role will focus on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of high-traffic sports betting products.

What you'll do

• Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases
• Test web applications, APIs, backend services, and integrations across the sports betting platform
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing
• Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution
• Validate new features against functional and technical requirements
• Perform API testing and verify data flows between different services and systems
• Test real-time functionality and platform behaviour during high-volume sporting events
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts
• Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, and DevOps teams
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide QA input during the development lifecycle

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices
• Experience with both manual and automated testing
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar
• Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman or similar
• Good understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, or another programming/scripting language
• Experience with SQL and validating data within relational databases Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Jira, and modern development workflows
• Experience testing web-based applications and distributed systems Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to clearly document and communicate defects and technical issues
